5 Ways To Squeeze In A Workout On A Busy Day!
Hey AC Fam!! Do you ever feel like skipping your workout because you are too busy, too tired, or just would rather do something else? Trust us, we’ve been there!
Research shows that exercise helps keep our brains healthy, reduces stress, boosts creativity, improves energy, and so much more! Exercise even helps with time management skills and productivity. YES, you are reading that right! When you feel the urge to slow down, speed up instead and get your workout in!
Here are a few tips to get your body moving! Can we start by getting a heck yeah?! ;)
GET OUTSIDE AND USE NATURE AS YOUR GYM!
Getting out in nature boosts your mood and is an effective way to easily get your heart pumping without having to take a trip to the gym! You can go for a walk, a jog, a run, do some body weight moves outside, and more.
SET A TIMER!
Setting a timer is a great way to help you get through a workout. Set your phone timer to 30 to 60 minutes and move nonstop until it goes off! This can be anytime throughout the day whether you decide to hit the gym, go outside, or stay inside, just make sure to move your body! BREAK UP YOUR WORKOUTS!
Have you heard the rule of 3’s? If you move your body for 30 minutes a day it can help if you break it up into 3 ten-minute increments. This allows you to squeeze in a quick sweat sesh at random times. If you’re at work or on a lunch break you could always do a couple of your 10 minute increments by doing push-ups, crunches, or squats so you can still be “work ready” when you’re done moving your body.
LET GO OF WHAT A WORKOUT “SHOULD BE!”
Maybe you think that working out means sweating your brains out and shaking after… this is NOT the case! Here at AC we believe working out is moving your body whenever and however you can to get stronger, get your heart pumping, increase those endorphins, and to live YOUR healthiest and best life. Moving your body whenever and however you can is working out. Forget the stigma of what you think it means to workout (or what others say) and move at least once a day whenever and however you can!
MULTITASK
Have work to do and a million things on your to-do list? Why not workout as you check those boxes off?! Put some ankle weights on as you clean the house or jog around the parking lot while running errands. Pick up your pace while grocery shopping. Walk to the farthest bathroom or meeting room while at work. Engage your core and work on your posture during your drive home. Go on a walk and take a call or have a meeting with a teammate. There are so many ways you can get that extra boost throughout the day while you are multitasking!
We are awake for an average of 16 hours a day so moving our body for 30 to 60 minutes is totally doable! YOU got this! We are cheering you on! It’s all about mindset and consistency. Make it a habit to move your body and you will succeed in more ways than you thought possible! Let’s do this!
