Five Lakes That You Must Visit!
In Washington State we love staying active, especially in the warmer months! Hiking, Camping, paddle boarding, outdoor fitness, and kayaking are just a few of the activities we see our community taking part in regularly. Lake activities are so fun for everyone to enjoy, which is why we have five beautiful lake’s in Washington State we’re excited to recommend! If you are looking for a local lake that is easy to get to, great for families, and you can paddle board in, then we have just the lake for you! Located in the Seven Lakes area near Lakewood, WA, Lake Ki is a great spot to stop when you need a quick dip in some cool and refreshing water. It’s great for kids because it has a shallow area that allows the kids to get in at their pace. It’s also very scenic once you take your paddle board out to the center of the lake and are surrounded by trees and quaint lake houses. Plus, it’s less than a five minute drive to grab a burger and fries at the local burger shop!
Lake Whatcom is located in the vicinity of Bellingham, WA, and is perfect for all of your boating needs! You can spend hours cruising around on your boat, in your kayak, or swimming! The versatility in water sports that this lake offers is what we love about it. There are also several parks that you can picnic at and several trails nearby to walk your dogs while taking in the views. Need food for your picnic? That’s great! There are multiple grocery stores and restaurants that offer quick food to-go that are only a 15 minute drive away!
This is one of our favorite lakes for a weekend getaway! It’s located near Winthrop, WA, and offers picturesque views! This is an area that is perfect for families, friends, and anyone else that wants to join the fun! Bring your camping gear and stay at one of the lovely campsites bordering the lake, or you can stay at one of the cabins in Winthrop and visit the lake with a day pass. Wherever you are staying, you will want to make sure you check out this beautiful area and maybe even catch a fish or two!
Located in Klamath County, OR, Crater Lake is a wonderful Summer destination! This expansive area offers outdoor activities galore, from camping, to hiking, to birdwatching, and more! There are many campsites that surround the lake as well as vacation rentals if you are looking for a relaxing getaway. The nature surrounding Crater Lake is breathtaking! Bring your camera and your sense of adventure for a fun time you’ll look back at again and again!
Lake Crescent is a great destination to visit on your way to the Washington Coast or as it’s own focal point. Located on the outskirts of Port Angeles, WA, Lake Crescent is a magnetizing crystal blue color that makes you want to jump right in! There are campsites, cabins, and houses you can rent along the shoreline, which make visiting this amazing lake that much easier! If you are nearby in Port Angeles, it is worth the drive to catch a glimpse of the scenery in this area. There is swimming, kayaking, paddle boarding, and more! Come prepared with bug spray and a beach towel to enjoy this gorgeous lake spot!
